Allan
Stewart
is a graduate in commercial art, layout, design and fine arts.
Although
he has been absent from art and painting for many years, he is enjoying
a new introduction and activity in Watercolour landscapes. Allan
has also studied art with Gery Puley, and with John Joy at Sir Sanford
Fleming College Haliburton.
Allan
enjoys
painting local landscapes and individual landscape subjects in the open
air and paints on site in many of our local nature areas. He also looks
to a broader aspect in "painting subjects" than just landscape, which
is
his favourite.
A
feel for
flexibility in subjects has Allan broadening his interest. Still Life,
Waterscapes, floral and individualistic subject matter are most
important
to ones breadth in painting. Through this development Allan sees the
advantages
to be gained in his work.
A
visit to the CZECH REPUBLIC "in September 2006 gave light to ' The Old
World ' and the beautiful architecture of ancient Europe. Painting here
was a real experience and gives one a true sense of Euopean History in
its original form. Ninth century buildlngs, cobblestone streets and the
beautiful 'free' people made this trip a memorable experience.
